Born in Guadalajara, Marcelo Ramirez is inspired largely by his own family’s culinary heritage. At both of his restaurants — La Mezcaleria and La Taqueria — he has set out to create an authentic interpretation of those roots. Always looking forward, he’s currently preparing for the launch of his newest project: a tortilleria and commissary kitchen in North Vancouver.
Function plays a big role in his closet; Marcelo searches for menswear that is versatile and practical, but with a touch of eclecticism. These days, while working from La Taqueria’s head office in Gastown, you’ll find him wearing his favourite grey cashmere sweater with sneakers.
Starting with her favourite black oxfords, Tré is a strong believer in building an outfit from the ground up. She loves menswear, as it allows her to straddle the line between masculinity and femininity. She’s currently working hard on the launch of a new portfolio site for her modelling and styling projects.
When she’s not in front of the camera, Tré can be found managing a local clothing store and going for long walks after fruitful days. However big or small, she says an instinct motivates her work, pushing her to excel in her field.
For Montréal-based filmmaker, Xavier, 26, each project begins with a dream. His next project: Berlin. The best part of Xavier’s day is when he feels most productive. His work is centred on the macabre, the avant-garde, and all things surreal. He has directed independent and commercial projects for Visage Musique, Missy Industry, and Lisbon Lux Records.
Xavier is most attracted to menswear which embodies simplicity and consistency. Favourite item in his closet? Leather short shorts.

Jonathon, owner of Litchfield, says the best part of his day is leaving the house in the morning to head to work. Form and function play heavily in his life. “I keep my eyes open, conscious of the surroundings,” he says; Jonathon begins work when he feels centred. Next project? Working with local co., Red Flag Design, on a selection of Litchfield bags.
Jonathon gravitates to menswear where intricate details communicate a quiet confidence–like his favourite black jeans.
